Kiss me before I go
Hello all! For no explicable reason, I've been stricken with insomnia. It may very well be the jet lag (TWO WEEKS after my relocation? hah!!), but for every single morning of this week dwarfish miscreants have wreaked havoc on my ceiling tiles at eight a.m. sharp. No luck for a lazy summer. (Oh right! By the way, I'm crashing at a preschool for the rest of the summer). It's four in the morning, I'm still up and about, and I've decided 'twould be a good time for a much needed update.
First off, I'm broke: I can't touch the remaining dollars on my bank card so as to not upset the minimum balance, and I haven't a single cent in my pockets (spent my last buck-fifty on three stamps, and gave the rest to charity on the subway). Thought I had a couple hundred more dollars in my account before I flew off to New York, but apparently it was all bullocks!
For my sanity, there are three items that I must immediately purchase upon landing a job:
Those plushy Sugar flip-flops, because the only open-toed footwear I possess are high heels that destroy my knees.
EAR PLUGS, 'nuff said. Preferably big, fatty ones.
A month's subscription for the New York Times, because it's too fucking hot to trek (more or less) 15 blocks to the newsstand!
