“Senator Clinton has earned great respect for her tenacity and courage. The media often overlooked how compassionately she spoke to the concerns and dreams of millions of Americans, and she deserves a lot more appreciation than she sometimes received. As the father of three daughters, I owe her a debt for inspiring millions of women to believe there is no opportunity in this great country beyond their reach. I am proud to call her my friend. Pundits and party elders have declared that Senator Obama will be my opponent.”
Your friend? Really?
Methinks McCain should've gotten on Hillary's email list early on, because then he'd have read this today:
On Saturday, I will extend my congratulations to Senator Obama and my support for his candidacy. This has been a long and hard-fought campaign, but as I have always said, my differences with Senator Obama are small compared to the differences we have with Senator McCain and the Republicans.
I have said throughout the campaign that I would strongly support Senator Obama if he were the Democratic Party's nominee, and I intend to deliver on that promise.
But it gets better:
Listing his breaks with the President - including Iraq war strategy, the treatment of detainees and energy policy - [Senator McCain] bragged that he was criticised by Republicans and Democrats alike. "I don't answer to them," he told the cheering crowd. "I answer to you."

So, Hillary Clinton is McCain's 'friend', and McCain is not a Republican. Or a Democrat.
Perhaps someone should just tell McCain that the race is over and he won. Given his apparent delusion, he'd believe it. We could build him his own little mock White House in the middle of Arizona (so it's 90F year-round. Just tell him it's global warming), give him a fake red button and put on some endless tape loop of shit being blown up in Iraq/Iran/whichever country we've decided not to like today. He'll be happy, and the rest of us can go about trying to fix this country up and make it what it should be, instead of wasting our time listening to this absolute bullshit.
