Wow. It's just short of 11 minutes long, but so so SO worth it. It's just gets better and better, minute by minute. She's smart, calm, and confident, and David Frum is . . . not. I think Rachel may have thrown David Frum off his talking points, judging by his faltering attempts to make any sense in the last two or three minutes. If you're short of time (though really, the whole thing is worth it), skip to 2.55 to see a wanker douchebag extraordinaire David Frum accuse Rachel of 'ugliness of tone', 'sneering', 'sarcasm', and 'disregard for a lot of the substantive issues'. Yah. A Republican accusing, of all people, Rachel Maddow of 'sustaining this terrible cycle of unseriousness about politics'. Just . . . wow.
Fortunately for America, Rachel is a smarter person than I (no way!), and proceeds to test David's ability to defend his nonsense opinion. David then proceeds to demonstrate his woeful inability to do so. It's a beautiful piece of television, and I plan to replay this until it wears my computer out.
And while I'm at it, the phrase 'Axis of Evil' was created by David Frum. Symbiotic relationship with negativity indeed.
