See? This is the problem with telling myself I'm going to update every single day. I always seem to convince myself to totally go against the very thing I swore to do.
Oh well. That's life, right?
Updates, though:
I am now the owner of a tattoo.
It's on my upper right shoulderblade, and it's a chinese watercolor painting of lotuses and lilypads. I'll post a picture when I can, but I just got it today so it's not in any shape to be shown quite yet (:
Getting it was a nervewracking and stressful experience: I was both sure I wanted it and anxious about actually getting it. I still can't believe I went through with it...I think the permanance still has to set in, but I can say that I don't regret it. I realize all the repurcussions and potential negatives of having gotten a tattoo and honestly I don't give a flying fuck. I'm proud of myself for doing it. It's gorgeous and classy and an amazing reminder of my time/college experience, as well as inspiration for my future endeavors.
We were planning on getting it in the morning, but we ended up going to a place that wasn't very good and we kind of got sketched out, so we ended up returning to the tattoo parlor next to our school. I'm glad we went--the price was decent for all of us, and I felt much more comfortable with them. The man who did my tattoo did an excellent job and I'm so glad that he did!
The pain was cosi-cosi, but there were definitely some parts that hurt more--for example, the upper shoulder, closer to my shoulderblade, and strangely enough some random spot in the middle of my shoulder. The color was actually easier to handle, which was not what I'd expected. It took them 40 minutes to complete it, and I'm proud to say I didn't emit a single noise of pain. Yay high pain thresholds!
So now I'm just taking care of it, which is daunting in and of itself. The prospect of infection frightens me so much...it's ridonkulous.
Anyway, in other news, it's the last week of school! Yeah, that's right, LAST WEEK. And I'm writing my LAST PAPER (on erotic art in ancient Rome, fun times...you would think. but actually it's the most painful paper I've ever written. Thank GOD I'm not an art history major). I still have an awful cough from getting sick two weeks ago. The congestion is much better but the cough remains. I'm probably going to get it checked out on Friday.
Anyway, a paper to write and 5 pages of compiti italiani to work on! Love you all, flist. See you on the flip side ♥
PS: I made a pear crisp yesterday. It was delicious! Annnd today we went to The Abbey for a pitcher of Guiness to celebrate our tattoos and then went to dinner at Da Totinos. I split a Veal & Potatoes and an Eggplant Pasta with Audrey. Che bello (:
