Nerd girls

So I took another silly facebook quiz today about the webcomic www.xkcd.com (click IMMEDIATELY if you don't recognize it). It pronounced me a "Nerd Girl" and gave this description:

You're a Nerd Girl. You are every nerd/geek guy's fantasy. Unlike other nerds you have a baby factory inside of you, and probably wear a Rubik's cube bra. You're unique and love to do the things that make you happy. You enjoy taking adventures and like to try new things, and even though you're grownup you still like making blanket forts. You can dance to a fifteen second loop of techno music and probably like Firefly. Like I said, every geek's fantasy.

I'm not going to lie, that blanket fort comic is pretty much the best thing ever. I want to have a big blanket fort with a naked boyfriend inside!

But anyway my point was that it's kind of weird to me that this description would fit someone's idea of a "nerd girl." I guess I'm a little biased since apparently, I am one, but it doesn't seem to be THAT nerdy to me. Why is it 'nerdy' to be 'unique' and to 'love to do the things that make you happy'? I guess I can see the Firefly thing, sort of...but while this quiz answer made me happy (I LOVE being a nerd girl (:!) it also made me kind of confused. Adventures and good TV shows and quirkiness and blanket forts shouldn't be exclusively nerd domain. That's just sad.

Anyway on that note, the reference to the ball pit strip (one of my favorites--I had it as my LJ icon for a while) provoked a quick google, upon which I found this and immediately died of jealousy: !!!!!!

Recently I've been watching a lot of the show The Tudors and I've really enjoyed it. For some reason each episode feels very long and dense, but in a good way, and there's a good mix of hot men, intrigue, sex, and drama. I don't even mind the constant religious references, much, perhaps simply because no one in the show really seems to be all that religious (as in, they talk the talk but they don't walk the walk). I've done a LOT of wikipedia-ing since watching episode one, and it greatly pleases me to pretend as if I'm actually watching the meeting and discussing of figures of history. I don't know how to adequately describe it, but it's just so fucking cool to watch history as if it was actually happening. But then again I've always been a sucker for movies/tv shows that are based on real life.

That's all for tonight, I think. I'm going to get some extra sleep tonight, I want to get up early tomorrow. Love you all!

PS: Sex in a ball pit? Has got to be AWESOME.
