Was it actually on fire? Because when I was a freshling the dorms had fire alarms go off at night multiple times a week.. on at least one occasion twice in one night.
However, once someone accidently fired off the fire extinguisher in Bixby, and the fog-stuff that came out set off the fire alarm. So people come running out of their rooms into a hallway that appears to be filled with smoke!! I'd imagine that was some scary shit.

LOL at your icon. Nice. But I don't think the DORM itself was on fire...there's a field directly to the right of our dorms, between S. and N. Castilian, and I think it started there. We went investigating after the fire dep't left, and the smell was definitely stronger there. But yeah there was tons of smoke and stuff and there was a reddish sort of glow for a while that looked like it was coming from right smack in the middle of our dorms, so everyone thought it was in the actual dorms.
It took them forever to pull the alarm though, because my roommate and I literally sat in our room for five minutes sniffing and checking around our dorm because we smelled it and thought that our computers had overheated or something. We went outside to ask our suitemates and a few seconds after that, the alarm sounded.
Which is weird for me cause I'd always said to myself even if there's a fire I'd always take the time to get at least the essentials, like HW and laptop and keys and cell and stuff...but guess not.
shiet, glad nobody or their belongings were harmed. a house full of international students here was once burned to the ground.. they lost everything but no one was hurt thanks soley to some guy who smelled it.. darn slum lords. You're in a really safe place. Alarms in my dorm once, i grabbed a jacket and my hard drive :x.

Heh yeah, we used to do firedrills in school? We'd always have to leave our bags etc. I was always so sad at the prospect of losing them XD
