Graduation/Grad Night

Jun 17, 2006 19:26

wow. Just...wow. I am no longer a high school student, and instead I'm hovering in that strange limbo between high school and college.

Yesterday was graduation, and while I nearly died of a heat stroke in the actual ceremony, it was definitely one of the oddest points in my life. If I were to go back in time, I don't think I would have skipped it like Ingrid did, heat or no heat. Just to be able to wear the cap/gown/lei/cord and walk to get my diploma...I guess it kind of finalizes everything.

And WOW, grad night...pictures/videos will come later, but omg, it was amazing. IN-N-OUT♥, the awesome talent show done by the teachers [in which Mr. Volpe was FREAKING HOT...why must he be gay??? ):], caricatures, twister, arcade games, roulette, carnival rides, slides, etc etc etc...

Ohhman. fun stuff. Kim, I think, ate like 2 cheeseburgers AND 2 plates from the restaraunt place [they had DELISH chocolate-covered strawberries]. WHERE DOES IT ALL GO? She weighs like...what 95 pounds? e_e Also, she is REALLY REALLY bad at roulette. I won most of my chips by doing the opposite of what she was doing. XD ♥ that girl...U6 love foreverrrrr.

The talent show by the teachers was both traumatising and awesome. While some performances were hilariously fun [ie. the Grease one and the 'Love Shack' one Diaz & Sutliff did] others were SO NARSTY [namely, the BELLY DANCING ONE featuring our 40-year-old counselors gyrating their hips to arabian music in midriff baring costumes e_e]

...I swear. So truamatising.

Anyway. Like I said, Volpe was TEH HAWT in the teacher-rendition of 'Grease'. And Ms Novak was a cuuuuutiiiieeee...she sang pretty well too..."Look at me, I'm Sannndrra Dee"

At the very end of grad night, they started playing all this music--the DJ there was WAY better than our DJ for prom--and so everyone gathered in this quad-like area and started dancing. It was soooo awesome. Hahaha, working off all those calories from the in-n-out burgers XD

At the VERY VERY end, they played 'Graduation' or whateverthehellthatsongbyVitaminCiscalled and all of us threw our sweaty arms over each others' sweaty shoulders and swayed to the song in this one huuuuuuuugeeeass circle and sang along. So awesome.

My only regret is that I didn't go laser tagging ): The line was too long...so I have yet to experience it!!

But anyway, after that, Olivia and I drove to Carmen's house and hung out with Roni and Carmen. Roni and Olivia fell asleep but Carmen and I talked to each other to keep ourselves awake. We stayed up the whole night [HELLS YEAH] and at about...8ish? 9ish? we went to Denny's to eat breakfast.

I SWEAR we were drunk on sleep deprivation...some gems of our conversation include the following:
Olivia: "...we should have our own reality TV show, guys..."
Carmen: "We could call it FUTONS...HAHAHAHAHAHHAHA....futons..."
Olivia, Roni, Tracey: "...WTF?"

Carmen: "I'm never going to get laiiiiiddd..."

Olivia: [[poking at a cherry in her BLUEBERRYFILLED pancake]] "This is so not a blueberry."
Roni: "It looks like a pineapple to me."
Tracey: "..WTF"
Roni: "WHAT? It DOES."

Olivia: "Wow those baseball guys are really hot...do you think they're from Stanford?"
Roni: "I think if they were from Stanford, they'd look a little smarter."
Carmen: "It's not possible to be smart AND pretty."
Olivia: "..."
Carmen: "It's so true, you know it is!"

Carmen: "I didn't want to be the creepy one!"
Olivia: "So you wanted HIM to be the creepy one??"
Carmen: "Yeah, I wanted him to be the creepy one."

Ohman. I love my friends. Also: SO MUCH FOOD IN ONE DAY x_X I feel like a tub of lard now. Wow. SOoooo much unhealthy food. It's kind of disgusting once I think about it. I came home and I had like, this HUGE URGE for like. Fruits and vegetables. Because wow, GREASE GALORE. e_E

and then I slept until 5 pm. yay-uh. tomorrow I'm going to old pas with lily and ash to shop for clothes to wear to the law firm...we're going to j crew and other such stores that are not available in Arcasia...I wonder how much money I should bring. Hm.

dancing, sleep, college, end of school, summer
