Don't Look Back (edit)

These last couple days I’ve been really, genuinely happy…for the most part. Part of it, I think, is the weather. It’s starting to warm up, so the minute I walk outside and feel the sun in my face I feel this big balloon swelling up inside me. Madison’s gorgeous, even in winter. More so, I guess, if you look past the grime filled snow and giant slush puddles. I haven’t written for a while.

I’m enjoying my classes a lot more this semester. I enjoyed school last semester, but I think I enjoyed the social aspect and the being on my own more than I enjoyed the actual school part. This semester I can actually see my classes being useful to me down the road. No offense to Logic, Bio, and Chinese History…but really…c’mon. This semester I’m taking an Ed Psych class, Music History, Trumpet Ensemble, Ed Policy, Piano 102, Band, High Strings Fundie, and Trumpet lessons. Yess…done with the pre-req stuff that’s useless (or almost useless) in my major. I’m working harder in my classes because I can actually see myself using these things.

I still love Madison. Not gonna get sick of this town any time soon. It’s getting to the point that I don’t like going home, haha. Though these days, I’m much more likely to call Madison home than Hartford. Don’t get me wrong, I still love Hartford, but gone are the days when I could see myself spending the rest of my life there. Where can I see myself? Not sure, but I don’t think I’d mind living in Madison a bit… I’m dreading summer.

We found an apartment for next year! It’s on Langdon, so it’s relatively close to campus, and close to State Street, so in the general area where I’m comfortable. It's a 3 bedroom and it'll be me, Ruthann, Sarah, Danielle, and Drew. I know already I’m gonna love living with Ruthann and Sarah. I’m pretty certain I’ll be rooming with Danielle, as I know her better than the other two. Also, hopefully nothing happens between Danielle and Drew…there’s always that chance. Josh and Simon scared me into thinking too much about that. Anyway, I can see me still spending a ton of time at Chadbourne, as I’ll be at Humanities all the time anyway, and most of my now freshman friends will still be there.

And Barack Obama! Yeah, hope… ‘nother reason I love Madison… LIBERALS!! Haha, a refreshing change from Hartford. Yes We Can! We went to the political rally he had at the Kohl center before we voted in the primaries. It was cool, there was this awesome electricity in the air. Really amazing.
Wow, I really switched gears there…anyway.
