Ok, so my weekend...

Jul 31, 2005 18:48

Friday I ended up in Barrie around 6:30. Went to Gilberts to hang with Kyle until he was done at 8. Called Steve to meet us there, since he was done at west at 7:30. He brought Steve Q and Krystal with him. We all hit Taco Bell for a late dinner, so stoked. I finally bought Steve his birthday tacos. He was pleased as well.

Anyways, that night was supposed to be rather chill, but it wasn't and I ended up staying up until 6 and then getting about an hour sleep (in Steve's bed since some broads stole my couches) and then the barrage of phone calls began. I shit you not I had over 100 incoming calls yesterday. That's obscene and shouldn't happen ever. (although none of the calls were from the people I wanted to hear from)

So we all get up and get showered and ready to head to Molson Park for Warped. Matt drops me and Steve off not too far from the gates so we could go find the line-up we needed to be in. As the lady was getting my passes Steve spots Paul Koehler and chats him up a bit and tosses him the first of the many demos I had in my purse. So sweet. Me and Steve head into the park and get ready to take advantage of our passes... I mean,
how often do you get the chance to have backstage passes? Not often.

So we hit the bus areas, and played "guess who's bus this is" until we found the ones we were looking for. BNO has a huge and amazing bus. It's seriously amazing. I'm totally stoked for them and Connor was totally happy yesterday when we talked for like half hour.

Ran into Billy too. I was not so happy when he said Kevin wasn't there, seeing as Kevin is probably the coolest guy I know. I haven't talked to him lately, but summer is busy so that's understandable.
Bill mentioned them cancelling a show just so they could go to hellfest for Lifetime. That's probably the smartest thing in the world that they could do. Who want's to miss a motherfucking Lifetime reunion? No one, that's who.

Then around 1 I decided to call Brandon to find him and whatnot. Didn't have to though, as I was about to call I spotted him near his bus heading for food. I called him from across the field and he turned and looked strange, when he noticed it was me he looked not so weirded out, he was like "Fans never call out 'Hey Mr. Saller', so I was like WTF" Anyways, he and I chatted a bit, and then this ridiculous swarm of kids came up and just stared at him with their jaws open while he made sure I had his new number. He booked it off as fast as he could because he wanted to eat and shower and whatnot before their set at 3:45ish. (if you see pictures look for me and Steve on the right hand side of the stage, we were totally lurking and thought they'd make hilarious myspace pictures) Chatted a bit more about Ash and NYC and all that boring junk.

The rest of the day is a blur of band after band and sore arms and sunnie tans. I have massive sunburn even though I was the only one to apply sunscreen more than 3 times. Ya, I'm a freak, well aware. I have blisters on my shoulders to prove it.

After the show, we piled into the van and hit Taco Bell (yes, twice in one weekend) and headed home for naps and showers.
I didn't get a nap and almost didn't get a shower because of some prissy girls who apparently have to look their best 300% of the time. I swear, I must not be a "read girl" at heart because I could care less if I had makeup on or if my hair was perfect... hell, I walked around all night with my hair looking like a furby barfed hairballs on my head.

It was a GREAT night though. Pauly and Mike came over (with their boss... Leslie Carter... as in Nick and Aaron Carter's sister who also, by the way, got ZERO of the family looks...I wouldn't have known they were related if no one told me), and Mandi brought her roommate and some of her Winnipeg friends, one being Kyle from CBK. HE is the most easily embarassed person I know. So everytime one of the younger kids asked him about his band we told them about OUR band, The Teacup Cozies. We are a tap-dancing dual vocal team with a keyboard player, drummer and Mandi. It confused people, but it was damn hilarous to us. Andy Capp showed up too, that guy is truly one of the most intense tattoo artists I've ever met. He's so genuine, and he doesn't mind talking shop for hours. BUT his highlight was when we convinced Drunk courtney that he was a 39 year old philosophy prof.
I started to feel real shitty around that time and ended up calling the rest of the night a mellow talk-time. Emma, me, Court and shane just vegged and watched Billy Madison and talked until 6am in Kyle's room since he didn't stay home that night.
I woke up unable to move anywhere without wincing in honest to god pain, and when I finally got up I noticed my back was covered in blisters and just looking absolutely horrendous. I called my mom practically in tears and she told me to get home and hit a hospital. Got some cream that is totally taking away the burn feeling in my skin and I'm on watch for when the blisters decide to pop. I hope they don't when I'm sleeping, 'cause I would die if I rolled over into wet spots from oozing shoulder burns.
Today I was supposed to be in Welland celebrating with Dani, but because of the blisters I opted to stay home. I know that's real shitty of me, but I'll make it up to her.
