Looks good! But you are quite right that there is quite a bit of matchy-matchy going on :) Would not be overly obvious if you were posting a legacy or other story.

How did you make the kitchen island in the third pic? It's a double width cupboard that looks seamless. Inquiring minds want to know! Or is the double width island a feature of TS3 that I have totally missed???

Hehe I definently have to change things around a tad! I didn't actually notice it that much either, until I was editing my shots and EVERY room looked to same! Woops!

The counter is 2 normal counters back to back with 2 islands. With moveobjects on they actually snap together to create a seamless look, but for that particular counter I wanted it thinner so I used the disableSnappingToSlotsOnAlt on cheat and placed them manually just close enough that there was no overlap on the sink. That caused some texture blurring when I move the camera ingame but for still shots it works great. Hope this made sense!

Thanks for the instructions :) Yes, it does make sense and once I start building a bit in TS3 I'm sure it will make even more sense when I learn more about how that cheat works in practice.

It looks like there are some fun new building and decorating cheats in TS3. While I was never a master builder or master decorator in TS2, I'd actually love to have a bit more of a go at doing all that stuff in TS3.

I think it looks great, and quite realistic. The matchiness doesn't bother me at all. I like it when things match. :D

I like it when things match too... ESPECIALLY in the sims 3. (Because honestly CAST drives me insane most of the time and I just get lazy! I can't ever seem find the colours that I want so I have to find hex colour codes just to get something I like!) Thanks Anna

Oooh do share some pics if you get the chance! CAST is annoying. Honestly I don't think I like it all that much at all, there is such a thing as too much choice! It takes me about 3x longer to build and decorate than in sims 2. Lol more pics a-coming, I will kill people with pic-spam I promise!

I love me some Beatdoc houses, don't worry, I can take a lot before I get sick from such prettiness!

I was very intrigued by the kitchen island, too. It looks adorable and so realistic! So does the entire kitchen picture, and also the second (with the house in the sun). And I love the angle in the garden picture!

Yes, it's matchy, but I kind of like that :) Not too keen on those actual green/khaki/yellow colours, but they work great with the rest. :)

Bahaha I would never decorate my own house like this, the colours are a wee bit much :D I loved decorating that kitchen though, because of the very limited CC in sims 3 it's challenging to come up with ideas to make things look cluttered or realistic. It was interesting to use a house plan too because that's where I got the idea to make an island from in the first place.

Thanks! Well since this house is actually based of a house plan, I can't really take much credit for building it. It was actually fun to make something that way, I learnt a few tricks and building ideas from it too!
