What I Want?

Today I find myself wandering around in a physical manifestation of the Budayeen, George Alec Effinger's fictional Middle-Eastern city of sin and corruption. It is a good feeling. The late night atmosphere, unfamiliar food and language are all instrumental in creating a neighborhood that feels quite unlike any other I've lived in, Toronto's Little India. I'm smoking quite a lot of pot as always, but never in my apartment. Instead of my former usual wake-n-bake with bongs, I now stealth out to a nearby alley and smoke a joint or bowl. It's working out well, I'm smoking less earlier in the day. I'm not very happy with my life, but I find moments of staggering beauty each day. I work very hard as a server and kitchen helper at a taco restaurant. The food is good, we make everything from scratch.
