At the end of March I ran out of contact lens solution. I went to shoppers drugmart to buy more and couldn't find any of the brand I needed in the eye care aisle. I noticed there weren't any product by the company and after standing there for a while I bought multipurpose solution which was the store brand trademarked by the name Life. So I go to put my contacts in the next day and I feel stinging similar to getting soap in the eyes but not quite as painful. It was disturbing nevertheless knowing that there are preservatives in that shit that can cause that kind of a reaction. I found contact solution by the same company CIBA marketed with the name solo-care. I had the same reaction with this when I put my contacts in as I did with the generic brand, which is made by the same company. I did some research online and found out that studies have shown when people use these products they are more likely to get corneal staining which in plain english means ulcers on the eyes. These studies were done with people who wear their contacts all the time, but it still prevented me from wanting to use that product. It turns out that allegedly someone at CIBA cleaned one of the machines with something that caused contamination or potential contamination and they had to pull all of their products off the shelves for months. http://armourpr.wordpress.com/2006/03/03/turning-a-blind-eye-from-ciba-vision/ So much hassle over something stupid. I was able to get the product I have been using for years, once again so things should be better. But now I have contact lens solution that is just going to waste. Damm I wish I had perfect vision. I found a link for a short video today with the title "beware boys" It was made in the 50's and warns young makes about hitchhiking because they may be in danger of being picked up by those who are "sick in the mind" homosexuals. At the time this was made homosexuality was considered to be a mental illness. The narrator had that voice, that sounds the same as all of those little videos made at the time. The after school special 50's versions of all of the dangers out there. It was kind of interesting, but I don't want to make the effort to find the link again. I did find some decent punk videos on the site. I just typed punk into the search area.
