OK, ALRIGHT!
Let's talk about taking back the streets! Let's talk about reclaiming the city!
Nashville is about to have its very first critical mass. For those of you who don't know what a critical mass is allow me to explain:
Automobiles are one of the largest contributing factors to the environmental devastation that plagues the world today. Automobiles are one of the largest industries in America. Cars have taken over our streets, our cities, and our lives. Now we must take it back. In critical mass, bicyclists take to the streets and clog the corridors of America with non motorized forms of transportation. Critical Mass has no leaders and no goals other than to meet once every month and enjoy the security of riding, rolling and traveling through the city together. We will make it difficult for cars to continue their devastation and we will act in solidarity with each other to TAKE BACK THE STREETS!
Use your bike, skates, shopping cart, wheelchair, feet, scooter, skateboard, or anything else that comes to mind.
Critical Mass has no organizers, no membership, and no leader but rather it is an "organized coincidence".
Critical Mass in Nashville will take place in conjunction with hundreds of others that occur all over the world. Together we will ride on the last Friday of every month at 5pm starting in May of 2005.
The first month's route is as follows:
starting at dragon park and ending at centennial!
SPREAD THE WORD!
