one thing i never quite understood was how water resistance for watches was measured. you get watches that are rated as 100m water resistant etc, but im not quite sure what that 100m is supposed to mean. youd think that if it says 100m, it means that you can go underwater 100m with it right? negative. watches at 100m are supposedly only good for snorkelling and you have to get 200m+ watches if you want to dive with them, even though rec divers only go down to a depth of 30m. funny thing was i took my trusty seiko (rated at 5bar or ~50m) diving and it was fine.

if anyone can explain just how they get their (x)m water resistance ratings, id be mucho grateful. in the meantime, ill have to start saving for this bad boy. how can you not love something made by a company which bills itself thus;  "Bell & Ross watches are intended for astronauts, pilots, divers, bomb-squad experts, explorers and others who require that their timepiece stand up to high altitudes, arctic temperatures and high acceleration."
hey, that sounds just like my life!
