Why you should support the reformation of drug laws...
As you know, I am pro Kerry and very anti-Bush. Here is another stance....
Bush wants to toughen the already existing drug laws. Kerry wants them reformed.
Here are some stats...
More than 116,000 women are in US jails and prisons; 75 to 80% have dependent children. 80% of women in prison are serving sentences for nonviolent offenses; the percentage for women in jail is much higher. 65% of women in New York prisons were convicted of drug law violations.
average sentence of 48.9 months for Marijuana offenses.
average sentence of 75.6 months for drug offenses (including marijuana).
Average sentence for a violent offense: 63 months.

Why are they releasing killers? Because there is no room. I dont know the exact percentage but the majority of drug offenders are non-violent. How come non-violent criminals are serving more time than these sick fucks? Because of the drug war that Bush supports. People hate Kerry because he supports abortions. Note that he is pushing for WOMEN'S RIGHTS. A baby killer? Try Bush. He has put to death over 20 people that were later found to be innocent. Additionally he put to death a severly mentally retarded man. I dont believe in the death penalty. Why? The potential of innocence. As long as they are alive there is hope. Again...lets go with Bush. He is against abortions yet he sends men and women to their death because of this POINTLESS war. It has done NOTHING.
