I did my report on physicists. Physicists perform and design experiments with lasers, telescopes and many other high -tech equipment.
Physicists explore and observe structure and reactions of matter and energy. Physicists also look for ways to
apply laws and theories to energy, electronics, technology, navigation, and medicine. Most physicists work in research and
development, some just to basic research.
Physicists mostly work regular hours. Much of physics research is done in small or medium sized laboratories or offices. When
physicists are deeply involved in physics such as experiments in plasma, nuclear, and high energies, they may work irregular
hours. Most do not encounter unusual hazards in their lines of work.Physicists and other physic related jobs were held at ten thousand in the year of 2000. Many physicists work in colleges and
universities for the state, drug companies and electric equipment factories.
High school students who are interested in becoming physicists should take a college prep course. You should take as many
math courses as is offered in your school, and as many of the sciences as possible. English is also important since physicists
have to write up lectures and communicating at higher levels .Computer knowledge is also key. The most successful physicists go
beyond a bachelor’s degree to get a master’s and then a doctoral, which shows a significant piece of original research. Without
postgraduate degrees, it’s ususally difficult to find work as a physicist. Those who do get a job in this field with only a bachelors
will find that they need to further their studies if they want to higher themselves beyond lab duties.
After high school, people interested in the physics field should enroll in a four year college. To become part of the physics world you must have a doctoral degree. A post - doctoral degree is not required but is
important for a permanent job at universities and the government. Ph.D - holders usually teach at the university and college
level. A masters degree usually does not qualify for basic research positions but can qualify you with a job with a physics
background. A bachelor's degree barely qualify's you for any kind of physics teaching or researching. Approximately five
hundred - seven colleges and universities offer departments for Ph.D.'s, also another seventy - two departments offer masters
degree as there highest degree.
High - average earnings of physicists in 2000 were $82, 535, the middle fifty percent of physicists earned about $65, 820 to
$102, 270. The highest earning was $116, 290 and the lowest was $65, 820 in 2000. The average starting salary offer to a
physics doctoral degree was $68,271 in 2001.
From Aristotle to Galileo physics are an everyday sight ... from watching the sun rise ... to watching it snow ... or even
sitting in a college course ... physics are every where, and if you work hard you can be a successful physicists.
