Stephen Colbert and Congressman
Fucking Incredible! I didn't really 'get' Stephen Colbert when he first got his own show but he's shaping up to be everything that John Stewart has been to the people who just want the world to make some fucking sense.
I once had a bible thumping co-worker make the same argument that putting the Ten Commandments in a government building wasn't a violation of the separation of church and state. So I said "what is the first commandment?" You could see him phase it in his head 'I am the LORD your God who brought you out of the land of Egypt, from the house of slavery. Thou shalt have no other gods besides Me...' hmmm... he just gave me a look like "damn, I never thought of it that way before". I asked him "so if I was an athiest I shouldn't have anything to worry about when I go into a courtroom where that is displayed at the front door?" He had no answer.
