We are back home and I'm shushing Tanya to sleep as I type this post on my phone. Yesterday, Bear and I went to a wedding of a friend of his from high school. We were both very happy for her when she called in July to tell us about her engagement and figured we could leave the baby with Bear's parents.

It was the first time I left Tanya for more than 3 hours. Bear's parents were watching her but they are a bit older so we're were worried a bit. But they really enjoyed the time with their only granddaughter. So I left 2 bottles of milk, got dressed up in a fancy dress and off we went for 10 hours.

The ceremony was in a Catholic church about an hour from Bear's parents at 1pm.
It was a lovely service with a funny priest. Many kindergarders from the bride's class (she is a teacher), came too, which was cute. She looked very happy. We then had a few hours to kill before a reception at 5pm at a fancy hotel, so after some lunch in the car, we drove over there to the hotel and just hung out in front of the fireplace. We even talked to a cousin of the bride and we r a bit social.

The appetizers were varied and delicious and the drinks too (I can't drink alcohol yet because I'm nursing but there were lots of non-alcohilic options). We also had fun chatting to other of Bear's high school friends and dancing and taking silly pictures at a photo booth. It was a nice reminder of pre-baby life and a nice break from routine. And we only called to check in twice, which was good. The regular food at the wedding wasn't that special - a Russian wedding is much better in that regard - but we weren't there for the food.

We got back around 10 and Tanya was sleeping in the stroller, which was smart on his parents' part. When she woke up at 10:45, I took her upstairs, fed her and put her in the pack and play bassinet and then went to pump. Great evening overall.

Today was more low key. All three of us went for a nice walk in the nice spring like weather and left to drive home at about 3. My parents were hanging out at my place, watching Netflix, after their trip to the city. My Mom wanted to give Tanya a bath. So overall a good holiday. Now on to New Year next week.
