2010
Hi anyone who still uses LJ! I'm back again after another 6 month interval! I guess my commitment to LJ went out the window a long time ago.
Anyway how are you all? Do fill me in!
So it's 2010 and so far..well it's alright! I spent New Years at Simon's restaurant and we both drank as much as we could in half an hour and by 1.30am we were collapsed behind the bar. I had a failed attempt to kick arse at Just Dance on the wii and had lots of sleazy conversations with his work mates before retiring home around 8ish. All in all a good night!
We went to London for Simon's mum's birthday and his parents paid for a dinner at Caffè Uno which was amazing. We then went on to the British Museum to see the Moctezuma exhibition which seemed to lack things about Motezuma. It was more about the culture of the Mexica and their New Fire Ceremony. It had some pretty cool stuff though, like a big eagle statue with a hole in the back that was used to store human hearts as a sacrifice, and a mask that had turquoise and black stripes over an actual skull. It had all it's front teeth knocked out but the rest were there and you could actually see the holes where the teeth would have been. I found that pretty interesting but then I guess I'm quite morbid haha!
Simon's friend Tony moved back to America today so we've spent the past few days hanging out with him and I've actually had a social life here! Never thought that would happen.
I had an interview today for a job as a receptionist for the NHS Cancer Centre. We went shopping in the morning and got clothes because I own literally nothing to wear for interviews. I think it went alright, I should hear if I got it tomorrow. I started to feel quite sad about leaving Fabric Land when I got back from the hospital, but that's mainly because I have friends there. I've never worked somewhere that's made me feel that shit about myself before. They're always turning me down for promotions saying I'm not ready or I'm not assertive enough but I work fucking hard in that place. So now I just think I've tried my best and it's still not good enough so it's time to move on to a job I might be better at.
I've started my list of films/books/tv series of 2010 seeing as the 2009 one lasted for a few days in June. The list is here if you want to have a look. Also please feel free to comment with recommendations or your own opinions about the movies on there. I always find it interesting to hear what people think of films.
Oh yes and of course it's snowing! It's times like this I wish I had to get a bus or a lift to work so I could have a day off.
