Of Faith and Choice...

Henry,

What you raise here is things that I have thought about for years.

When I was growing up I was raised by Roman Catholic Grandparents who sent me to a Baptist Christian School and my Dad took me to The Church of Latter Day Saints on the weekends that I would visit him. Growing up for me was very interesting. I had three very different Judeo-Christian religions all coming at me at the same time.

What this did to me is make me take a step back when I was old enough to and look at all the differnt aspects of religion and theology. What I personally could see is that as far back as the Ancient Greeks and Romans all the stories are essentially the same and trying to tell the same story. Now like any good story it gets changed over time as it gets told and retold.

Right now I conider myself Agnostic. Do I believe that there is a higher power? Yes. Do I believe it is in direct control of every aspect of my life. No. I think that is why we were given free will. To make those choices. Do our choice affect the world around us? Of course. Not sure if my faith does though.
