I feared that I'd be alone in chasing a dream and that I wouldn't be able to cultivate friendships. The reality of it has been so far that I've ended up making time for the people that really matter and new people have entered my life that are kindred spirits to me and I would've never met had I not taken on this path. I've discovered something that I didn't know mattered to me this much but that play a part in sustaining relationships through time: reciprocity.
Henry, one of the most powerful orations in history started with four little words:
"I have a dream..."
Pursuing your dreams is the most noble thing you can do, and I applaud you for doing so.
As I have been told many, many times (even if I still struggle to believe it), when you are doing what you love, people will gravitate toward you. They get drawn by who you are, what you do, how graciously and genuinely you accept, and how you, in turn give back (reciprocity, as you say). But what draws them to you is that spark, the spark they either sense as kindred, or as being mentored by you.
You carry that spark. You carried it the day I met you last October, and I continue to see it in your writings.
Go boldly, my friend. Pursue your dreams, and the life you want will build itself around you.
