So I bought the game at Wal-Mart (had to as much as I don't support it) at midnight and I was disappointed at them not having the Special Edition for the PS3. Oh well, fuck it, I wanted the game. So, was the wait and hype worth it?
Hells, fucking yeahs! I've played through about 15 missions so far, and spent some time just exploring Liberty City. These are my thoughts:
THE GOODS:
- Fantastic story, acting, and best of all, fantastic drama and comedy! Who would have thunk that?
- The graphics was definitely not your grandpa's GTAIII. Love every detail that's on-screen.
- Holy shit, GPS-navigation systems! Welcome to the 21st Century GTA! And the cell phone? Wow, it just made the game so much fun.
- An actual fighting system with defense and counter moves! It may be overly-simplified, but it works amazingly. Some punk had a knife on him and with a properly-timed press on the X button, I stole it from him and quickly turned the tables around.
- The shooting system? This was what I was worried about the most, and Rockstar solved the problem! It's not exactly Gears-Of-Wars-like, but it's pretty close! LOVE!

I LOVE ROMAN BELLIC.- Being chased by the cops has finally improved. Taking a cue from stealth games like Metal Gear Solid and Splinter Cell, there's a field of vision that vehicular officials have while chasing you down. A minor detail that provides a major experience in gameplay. Escaping the coppers has never been this fun and exciting.
Ah, there's lots more, but I have to take a break in the action ... 'cause I have to go to work. Lol.
Oh yeah, THE BADS:
- Played with the "SIXAXIS" controller feature on and I had a hell of a hard time with the helicopter. Furthermore, since I play with the controller at weird angles, I have to force myself to sit properly just so I could maneuver the heli and the motorboat. In fact, I failed the SIXAXIS tutorial about three times and I played the helicopter level for a total of 40 minutes! Lol.
- Cops seem to be freaking everywhere. It's probably just bad timing on my part.
- I would always accidentally hit the hotdog vendor. The vendor would then won't allow me to buy the necessary dogs to refill my health.
Well, these are more annoying really than "bad." I just need to turn off the SIXAXIS, but there's something fun about it.
