Ok, I've been a little wrapped up in my own dramas recently, but incase you hadn't heard, they are trying to put the hunt back in place for 2005. Commissioner Campbell approved the Bear Management Plan, which includes a hunt for the next five years.
I (obviously) am against this, and work with many groups that are trying to prevent it from happening. Each day there has been an action to take, and here is today's:
13 Days left until the bear slaughter begins in NJ
Tuesday, November 22
Day 9 - Two actions for the bears
1) Contact the NJ representative from the Democratic Governors Association. Here is another place to contact so that they too can feel the heat that is being generated by the impending bear hunt. Ask to speak to the NJ representative at the DGA and let them know how you feel about Acting Governor Codey standing by and letting a bear hunt take place once again in NJ. Let them know of the international attention that was brought to this issue when Democratic Governor Jim McGreevey allowed the first bear hunt in NJ in over 30 years to take place.

AND
2) Contact Assembly Speaker Albio Sires
Let Sires know of your opposition to the bear hunt and that you are waiting for Governor Codey to take the actions necessary to stop the hunt from going forward. Remind him of the vast opposition in NJ to a bear hunt.

I may post some of the previous days actions, but I think they are all listed if you go to the link in the action command.
