[Hello, new world. Sanosuke has tossed his journal aside, deeming it useless--in this case, meaning "he doesn't have a clue how to use it, and he certainly can't eat it." Unbeknown to him, this has activated the voice function.]

Just what's going on? [There's a pause, then a rather startled shout. Someone has just discovered his wings! And he ( Read more... )

Yes, you have wings. Try not to jolt them too much.

Thanks for the advice. I can handle pain though.

You want to actually help? Tell me how to get out of here, and get rid of these damn things.

Trust me, if I knew how to do either one of those things, I would happily pass the news along.

You can't remove the wings. You'll die if you do.

...You can't be serious.

[And then there's a pause, because someone is about to do something dumb.]

OW!

[Idiocy complete.]

Damn that hurts!

[Going out on a limb, here...] Yes. They're attached to you. And pulling out feathers hurts a lot. Can weaken you quite a bit, especially when they're so new.

Welcome to Luceti.

[Good limb.]

Yeah, I think I just figured that out. Geez, one feather shouldn't hurt this much.

Luceti? Is that what this messed up place is called?

Yes, that's what this "messed up place" is called.

There should be a village relatively nearby.

Can I actually talk to real people if I go there? This book thing is still creeping me out.

There are plenty of real people in the village, yes. Try and find the river. Follow it downstream - it shouldn't take you long. And I would advise holding on to the book - it's strange, yes, but it is quite useful.

[Follow the river downstream. Sanosuke can do that!]

All right, Book Guy. I'm going to listen to you for now, but I want to see your face when I get there!

[And cue the sounds of someone running at a rather rapid pace. Go Sano go! Except it's not as fast as he'd like, thanks to pulling out that feather before. He won't complain, though.]

...damn feathers.

[Not too much.]

Fine. [He tries not to sigh] Meet you by the Welcome Center. You'll probably need to go there anyway, unless you have friends you can stay with.

[Crap. That's something Sanosuke hadn't considered, and it brings him to a sudden stop before Sanosuke actually opens the book. Willingly!]

Hey, Book Guy! How do I find out if any of my friends are here too? You heard of a guy named Himura Kenshin?

Re: [Voice] consultmybooks November 5 2010, 00:35:53 UTC
Himura Kenshin?

No, I'm afraid not.

Normally, those of us who are already here just keep an ear out for people we recognize. My friends found me when I arrived in very short order.

Yeah, well. I'll do that from now on, but nobody I know is going to want anything to do with these weird book things.

[Back to running! Stubborn idiot is stubborn, so he'll be there soon, Giles.]

[Giles will go and sit outside the Welcome Center, keeping an eye out and wondering why this keeps happening to him.]

[He likes collecting people from old Japan? In any case, Sanosuke will find his way to the Welcome Center, thanks more to the signs than his sense of direction. And he will find Giles, live and in person. Thank goodness.]

Hey, you. You're the one from the book, yeah?
