Well its official
2008 Atlanta Pride will NOT be taking place in Piedmont Park due to the drought and the expected wear and tear on the grassy areas that are in dire shape due to the drought.
Different locations are being scouted by the staff of Pride to hold the annual event attended by over 350,000 people.
Its going to be very different for sure but I think its going to be fine and a good change for us. Hopefully the drought will end and the park will get back in a condition to host the large festivals that have been forced to move by the city. This doesnt affect just Pride, its also Dogwood, Roadrace and Jazz Festival. Once a location is determined I'm sure a press release will go out. also the dates will be changing so dont make vacation plans at work just yet to attend its still a shot at when we can have it depending on the venue that is chosen.
