Well, up until about 2 weeks ago my oldest client was 67.
I now train an 82 yr old man and an 81 yr old woman. It's been an enlightening experience for me in many ways.
I've learned to appreciate youth on another level and working with these new clients is a hands-on reminder of how short life really is. I work hard and play hard as it is. I plan to work harder and play harder when I can now.
I used to work for a group home, both behavioral and medical. During that time....my patience was tested like it never had been before. I'm glad to have had that experience because it's helping me to work with my new clients. It's always reassuring when an experience from your past resurfaces to help you in a new endeavor. Funny how that works.
With all that said, one of the thing's I look forward to in training them is the wealth of knowledge they disperse about the movies and music they've experienced throughout their lives. I've been taking notes because I myself am dipping into the vault of time. I'm currently watching W.C. Fields and Marx Brothers flicks. I love em' !
