pets and things
i) On Saturday I was surprised to see the local Super Pet, and apparently the whole chain, is being bought out the PetsMart. It's sad because I think the Super pet chains had much more creativity, a wider range of animals, bigger size, etc. than the other chain.
ii) Since we were there anyway and lots of merchandise was being cleared, I convinced Dave to get himself a 5 gallon fish tank.
iii) I'm concerned about my hamster. He's looked very lethargic for the past few days, and seems to be breathing heavily. I don't know if it's just age or if he is sick. A vet visit may be in order, but can be very costly ($50 for a basic check-up, many $$$ more for tests, medicines, x-rays, etc.), for an animal I paid $8 for originally.
