update - afternoon and evening
I finished up my workday, and the 2006 work year, said goodbye to my boss and a few students who were around, and walked home.
I took a leisurely pace getting my stuff packed and having lunch. I let the birds out for some flying while I replensihed their food and water. My birds, fish and plants will be in the capable paws of cdn_cub while I'm gone. The hamster is coming with me, I figure my relatives will like to see him.
After getting all the gifts, my luggage and the hamster in the car I headed out. The traffic was very bad all the way from London to Hamilton and it was slow going. I guess many people were finsishing work early and heading out. Nevertheless I was in a calm frame of mind and not rushed anyways, so it was fine. There was rather heavy fog approaching Hamilton, probably because of the rain and the unusualy mild weather.
Dave and I had an excellent dinner at the Chineese vegetarian restaurant in Hamilton. Dave is visiting some friends tonight and so I've been napping and watching TV. All in all it's been a good start to my Christmas break.
Tomorrow we're probably off to Niagara Falls to see christmas displays and the poinsettias at the Niagara greenhouse.
