And in more cheerful news...

Yay for tiny kittens! We went to the vet yesterday and found out they're negative for all the bad cat illnesses, and got them their first round of vaccines. So exciting, and such a relief - the vet had been trying to be "realistic" with us about their health b/c they were kind of a mess when we first adopted them.

Their respiratory ick seems to have healed all together. Kinde still has diarrhea though it's better, and he's not massively bleeding all over the place anymore (thank the gods). Their eyes are still a bit funky but they are both able to see out of both eyes now. They're still on antibiotics & eye gunk, and will be for another few days. But both of their energy is really good and they're both in the crazy kitten phase now, leaping and climbing and chewing on everything, running in circles, the whole bit. Kinde's still a big time cuddler and is quite happy to hang out on my shoulder; Tai is super affectionate in between lots of running around and playing, and is a little bit more fraidy than Kinde. He hides under me when he's scared, which is really heartbreakingly cute. The two of them somehow ended up inside my pant leg yesterday - I was wearing loose legged pants, and both kittens decided to crawl up IN MY PANTS. It took me forever to extract them, too - they kept leaping around, wrestling, and skittering up higher. I was about to just drop trou and shake them out but I finally got them to crawl back down low enough for me to reach in and grab them. I was laughing too hard to be of much use, really.

So the vet says that if their eyes and butts are looking better, we can start introducing them to the adult cats by Friday! My big orange boy Henry is going to be SO EXCITED to have little guys to play with, once he gets over being terrified of them... :) And poor Djuna is already giving us the look of "why must you BREAK MY HEART? what kind of vermin have you brought into my house??" We're in for a world of cat-politics within the next week or two... I can tell already...

I LOVE MY FURRY ANGELS!!
