everybody's got a hungry heart

So I was at the gym this morning doing bicep curls at one of the machines and struggling a little because my arms were worn out and I've been pushing myself to try to go heavier on the weights when it comes to my biceps in order to try to build some semblance of upper body strength. A pony-tailed latin dude who had spent a good 10 minutes walking around the track was making his way around my section of the gym again and said "Dios te bendiga" as he walked past me. I thought he was talking to someone else but then he looked right at me. "Ahh, gracias.." was all I could say because for some reason I was a little embarrassed. I guess because I felt like I was exposed (don't ask me why but I tend to ignore everyone in the gym to the point where it feels like I am the only one there). But then oddly enough shortly after, I felt pumped and finished my set strong. He had reminded me with that one comment what I was there for.

It's odd how complete strangers can give you a push. Yet your relatives just want you to stand still. I think I've received more encouragement and kind words from the gym denizens whom I never ever really talk to, then my own family.

Gotta lotta work to do tonight. Industrious, my evening will be.
