[Accidental voice]

[The first sound is that of a person- an old man, from the sound of it- muttering to himself.]

This is surely not the Blue Planet... nor the work of the crystals. What power could have drawn me here from the moon?

[Then he begins to speak more clearly.]

Ah, then it is a communication device. And since it appeared with me, I assume that there is ( Read more... )

As I see you have already been made aware, there are indeed many hearing your words.

[With his armor gone, Golbez's smile is easy to see.] Though I am distressed that you have been entrapped here as well, it is good to see you again, Fusoya.

I have learned, yes. This is unlike any Lunarian technology that I know.

[Oh? A smile, for Golbez? This is certainly a special occasion. He's touched, nephew.]

There was no way to prevent it, unfortunately. I was not prepared. The only thing left to do is to find a way that might be used to escape.

Though you speak as though it has been some time since you have seen me.

Yes, nothing I've ever seen has prepared me for what the Malnosso can do. These "shifts" they utilize baffle me.

[First time he's seen his uncle in almost three years. He's beside himself.]

That would be a universal goal among those imprisoned here. Regrettably, in several years time little progress has been made.

I, personally, have witnessed slightly over two and a half of those years. I am certain that to your perception I was with you on Luna not long ago, but for me... [He shrugs.] Such is a power either of the Malnosso, or of this world itself.

If their powers could take me unawares in the midst of the Crystal Palace, I indeed respect their ability, though I disagree with how it is used.

Has anything of particular note happened in that time? [He's noticed that lack of armor there, Golbez.]

A power of the world itself? An interesting theory... perhaps there exists some force similar to the crystals with the ability to do such things.

[OOC: for=from. I am making way too many typos right now. >.<]

Yes. They claim to have their reasons for what they do, but I much doubt they can justify all of their actions.

Many things. I could tell you stories for quite some time of what I have experienced here in Luceti... Some pleasant, some not. [Anything involving Kain, for example, will be under the "unpleasant" label.]

At the very least, we know there to be spirits tied into the world that can grant powers to those who earn their favor. Whether those same entities have anything to do with the greater mysteries of this world is, as yet, unknown.

Certainly not. Such things as I am told are done here are never justified.

Then at some point, we must find the time for you to tell them. I am rather curious about the happenings of this world. [Even the Kain ones.]

Is that so? And these spirits provide no answers themselves?

Of course. The near future should provide us a decent opportunity.

Regrettably, no. There was a point in time when the barrier around us was tampered with, and the spirits possessed several members of the populace, but we learned nothing then, either, save that without the barrier, they appear to have such abilities.

I look forward to it.

Possession? What form of it? [After Zemus's actions, he's rather wary of that word, understandably.]

It consisted of greater skill in the form of magic the spirit in question provided, a slightly altered personality, and a great growth spurt of the wings.

The Malnosso feared the change for reasons we did not understand at the time, and demanded we slay those affected. None of us agreed.

Hmm. The wings are not of the Malnosso's doing, then? Were you one of those affected?

Those reasons are understood now, then.

I was not affected by the possession. As for the wings, it would seem the world itself is responsible for them, as never have we encountered a resident without them.

Well, there is a theory, at least. It was not long after that that we encountered the Malnosso's enemy, those we call the Third Party. They are characterized by the same massive wings granted to those who were possessed. Regrettably, the saying of an enemy's enemy being our friend does not hold true. The Third Party are... deranged. They seek to slay every single being who resides in this world, us included. Permanently.

Two enemies, then. Quite troublesome. But the difference in the wings is a curious one. These Third Party members use the magic granted by the spirits, I assume. Though, what do you mean by permanently?

Correct, as well as other powers that the Malnosso call "Natural Shifts". These include but are not limited to the removal of our powers, the cloaking of their weapons, and enhancing their own physical capabilities.

Under ordinary circumstances, death in Luceti and the world beyond is temporary, lasting only a week, but with the slain one losing something valuable when they return, be it a possession, a skill, a natural ability, or otherwise. The Third Party have developed a ritual that overrides the resurrection this world provides.

A strange way to escape death, indeed. Are there any who have fallen to the Third Party, or is it uncommon to do so?

[Then, after a moment.]

I have been told of a village here. You live there, I assume?

None among Luceti have been subjected to their ritual, though some have fallen in combat. They tend to lack the time to draw things out so much when they are against us, a fact we are all grateful for.

Ah, yes indeed. One of the large group buildings is where I make my residence.

One would assume that their tactic would also be to kidnap the residents, but if they have not managed to do so, then all the better.

Ah. I have been offered a place among Cecil's home, but I will not spend all of my time there.
