I figure if writing an entry about my trip thus far will be half as interesting to one or two people as Eric and Dans journal are to me then i should go ahead and write an entry.
Verona had two great musueams one of roman and preroman artifacts and one focusing on medival sculpture and art, both were massive and worth spending 4 or more hours in. The best part about the museams is that the medival museam was inside a castle, and the arceological museam was around a roman theator that had been excivated.
I walked so much around the cities of verona, ferrara, and venice in a four day period that my hips and legs were killing me, I probably lost 20 gallons worth of sweat, and i had seen more art work and cathedrals than you could shake a stick at.
I just got back from Salzburg Austria. Salzburg was full of Austrians and tourists. I saw a good amount of Baroque era churches, plenty of motzart related atractions, and took a short hike in the alps which almost resulted in my crushing my foot or loosing my leg due to a loose boulder that I almost rolled over on myself while climbing down a hill. The massive amount of good beer almost pushed me off the wagon, but I was ok with only enjoying liverwurst and baconwraped cheese filled shniztel.
Italy is playing tommrow in the final for the world cup, if they win there will be an all night party in every city in Italy. When they won the semi final game there was massive histeria in the streets of verona with people in fountains, reckless scooter driving, plenty of pro italian and anti german chants and enough flag waving to make you think that italy just won a war or somthing.
I will be in europe for another month, the plan is to take it easy a bit in Turin and on the beach, as well as take a trip to southren italy, see naples, rome, and sicily among other beaches and smaller towns. I will try and make another entry or two. After i get back if anybody is interested i was planing on showing some pictures of the trip and sharing some food and liquere that I will bring back.
