Saints now 2-0, Unforgiven

Sep 17, 2006 21:41

-The Saints beat Green Bay 34-27 at Lambeau Field(1st ever win there for the Saints; 1st time ever that the Saints opened the season with 2 road wins). They did an impressive job coming back from down 13-0 and committing three turnovers in the first quarter, scoring 20 unanswered points. Drew Brees threw for 353 yards and 2 TDs. Reggie Bush caught 8 passes for 65 yards(though he only had 5 yards on 6 carries). Marques Colston is fast becoming the steal of the draft(7th round, 3 picks before Mr. Irrelevant), with 4 catches for 58 yards and the go-ahead TD with 8:20 to play. Joe Horn also had a good game with 5 catches for 88 yards.

Brett Farve still some gas in the tank, throwing for 340 yards and 3 TDs.

Next up for the Saints: Returning home to New Orleans and the Louisiana Superdome next Monday vs. the arch-rival Atlanta Falcons, also 2-0 following a 14-3 win over Tampa Bay. Going to be a tough one, as Atlanta has over 500 yards rushing in 2 games.

-WWE Unforgiven:(Results courtesy of the Wrestling Observer) As excepted, DX won the Hell in a Cell over the McMahons & Big Show; John Cena regained the WWE title, beating Edge in the TLC match; Johnny Nitro retained the I-C title over Jeff Hardy; The Spirit Squad retained the tag team belts over the Highlanders(makes no sense, I thought WWE was breaking the Spirit Squad up?); Trish Stratus beat Lita with the Sharpshooter for the Women's title in Trish's retirement match; Randy Orton beat Carlito; and Kane and Umaga fought to double countout.
