Danica Patrick made NASCAR history today, finishing 4th in the Sam's Town 300 Nationwide Series race at Las Vegas, the best finish ever by a female driver in the three major NASCAR series(Sprint Cup, Nationwide Series, Camping World Truck Series), breaking the previous record of 5th by Sara Christensen in 1949.

The race was won by Mark Martin, his 49th career Nationwide Series victory to extend his own record for most career wins in that series, after Brad Keselowski had a tire go flat on the last lap.

Danica is still 4th in the Nationwide points standings, although after the next race in two weeks in Bristol, Tennessee, she'll be back in Indycar.
