The LSU Tigers shut out the Tulane Green Wave 42-0 tonight in Tiger Stadium to go to 7-1 on the season.
In a tune-up for next week's meeting with the Alabama Crimson Tide in Tuscaloosa, Jordan Jefferson threw for 163 yards, 2 TDs, and 1 interception on 11 of 17 attempts, Charles Scott had 112 yards rushing on 18 carries and 2 TDs, and Brandon LaFell had 4 catches for 85 yards and 2 TDs. Russell Shepard also ran for a score.
LSU has beaten Tulane for the 18th straight time(Tulane's last win in the series was in 1982), with this being the 16th time the Tigers have won by double digits. LSU also extended their nation-longest streak of defeating non-conference opponents to 22 games in a row since losing to Iowa on the final play of the game in the Capital One Bowl on New Year's Day 2005.
