-The LSU Tigers completed a two-game sweep of their Super Regional over the Rice Owls, beating the Owls 5-3 earlier today at Alex Box Stadium in Baton Rouge.

Before this weekend, the Tigers had never beaten the Owls in either the Regional or Super Regional rounds(0-6 all-time going in, yet LSU is 2-0 all-time against Rice in Omaha).

LSU will play the winner of the Super Regional between the Ole Miss Rebels and the Virginia Cavaliers next weekend in the College World Series in Omaha.

LSU will make their 15th appearance in the CWS, and their 2nd straight, and will be looking for their first national title since 2000(and sixth overall).

-Danica Patrick finished 6th tonight in the Bombardier Learjet 550k at Texas Motor Speedway, snapping her streak of Top 5 finishes as teammate Marco Andretti(who had a faster car and wound up 4th) passed her with about 5 laps left. Helio Castroneves won, his 2nd win of the season, beating his Team Penske teammate Ryan Briscoe(who led a race-high 160 laps). Briscoe took over the points lead from defending points champion Scott Dixon(finished 3rd) by 3 points. Danica fell to 5th in points, 32 behind Briscoe, 29 behind Dixon, 21 behind Dario Franchitti(finished 5th, won the pole for 1 point), and 19 behind Castroneves. Next race is June 21st at Rusty Wallace's Iowa Speedway.
