The LSU Tigers routed the UC-Irvine Anteaters 21-7 just now to advance to the College World Series in the final game played at Alex Box Stadium in Baton Rouge(they move to a new Alex Box Stadium next door to the old stadium next year).
The Tigers jumped out to a 6-0 lead after the first inning with back-to-back-to-back home runs(the team hit 7 HR total tonight) by Blake Dean, Micah Gibbs, and Matt Clark, then got a 7-run 5th inning to take a 16-2 lead.
LSU, making their first CWS appearance since 2004 and will be trying for their first national title since 2000, will play North Carolina Sunday night at 6pm CT.
