LSU makes fifth straight Women's Final Four

Mar 31, 2008 21:42

The Lady Tigers of LSU beat North Carolina 56-50 earlier tonight in New Orleans to make their fifth straight trip to the Women's Final Four, this year in Tampa.

LSU, with the #1 scoring defense, held UNC's #1 ranked scoring offense to just 50 points(UNC came in averaging 88 points per game). Sylvia Fowles had 21 points, 12 rebounds, and 5 or 6 blocks.

The Lady Tigers will play the winner of tomorrow's game in Oklahoma City between Tennessee and Texas A&M on Sunday night.

Hopefully, they can get to the title game this time(LSU's 0-for-4 in the National Semifinals) and maybe even win the title.

ETA(10:33pm): During the Stanford-Maryland women's game just now, one of the bands just played the theme from Legend of Zelda.
