Close call...

I'm back from Powell river now, after rushing out to get to Chantelle in the hospital.  Monday night she got into an argument with her boyfriend and ended up punching the glass door and slicing up her arm badly.  Her beu (Byng by name), clamped a hand over the wound and got her to the hospital in record time, which was a good thing because she had lacerated the brachial artery!  Also severed two nerves in her arm, but gouts of blood in the five seconds it took Byng to cover the would.  The doctors there told him that if he hadn't done what he did and brought her in immediately, she would be dead.

Needless to say, I was on the first ferry out of comox the next morning, and in the hospital by 8:30 am.  She was in surgery for about two hours where she recieved 80 stitches and still has limited feeling in her hand.  But alive.  Nothing like saving your girlfriends life to endear you to her parents!  Everyone was freaked out, and a few are probably going to be having nightmares about it for a while!

Important part is that she's safe, somewhat whole, and back at her home now!  Hopefully with a good lesson pounded into her head!
