Hey guys, just writing to say that I picked up the Linkin Park album, the new one titled "Minutes to Midnight".. And initially I was a bit saddened, they had become more like other rock bands out there.. but I think that I missed the point initially. It doesn't seem to be an album of singles, /really/ good singles in the case of "Hybrid Theory" and "Meteora".. But a full album, following a theme. This new depth is a fantastic thing to see from Linkin Park. I believe it is following a different view of the one who could possibly die, or cause their own death. The gradual motion from a passionate state, firey and sometimes lively, to a more mellow and sadder.. almost grey feeling. I'll make another post when I feel I understand this album more, but it's surprisingly deep, I recommend it to people who like this kind of music.. :-b
On other news, I had a pretty awesome time last night. I finally got my laptop repaired and as such, very happy. On Friday (yesterday) I was calling all day to check the progress, then finally they said it was ready... 50mins before closing time. So I only had 50mins to get across to the other side of the city. To give you an example of how large Melbourne is, and how horrible the traffic was through the tunnel; I was late. But they stayed there for me. I was so very thankful for that. Anyway, managed to get home, set it to charge. Then we went out to get the current international tourist some Aussie music (basically it was my housemate's 21st, she lived in Germany for six months for school, we imported her best friend from that time as a surprise - we rock), and we had dinner together, that was cool. I love that bloke. Anyway, yeah. After that went to a houseparty, with Ed's friends, but yeah. Hehe. It's been a while since having one of 'those* kinds of free flowing parties, *laughs* Working today sucked on many levels, but that's not the point. The point is that it's over and even though I got home at 7am and had an intense day, the night was fantastic. Really got on with these guys. And it turns out they're going to see Armin Van Buuren too, and I'll go back to their place afterwards, as I don't have to work.
This cd is really good, I'm happy with it.. I'll leave you with one of the powerful piece of lyric that is just staying with me, from a song called "Leave Out All The Rest":
When my time comes
Forget the wrong that I've done
Help me leave behind some reason to be missed.
And don't resent me
And when you're feeling empty
Keep me in your memory
Leave out all the rest,
Leave out all the rest.
Have fun guys. I'll talk to you soon.
