Saw the original for this in the Hunterian Psalter, thought of harpduchess, and had to do it

is that a little gold stamping (erm, tooling) that you are getting into at the edges of the O?

Looks great!

It's actually gold gouache, laid down thickly on top of already dried gouache to imitate tooling. Oh, and this one is a "D" (old form, but the prettier one)

And thank you!

Since you're having so much fun with caps, I obviously have to give you more assignments. :)

Actually I'm working on prize scrolls for Northern Lights, and if you have any AoA's that need doing I'm happy to help, I have 4 scroll blanks that just need a beastie at the bottom (munching the shield) to be ready to go. Around mid-month I should have some extra borders ready. I'm trying to get my speed up, without comprimizing on the details. I figure National Novel Writing Month, when everyone else in my world is nuts, would be the time to do it.

That, my friend, is pretty damn fab. I especially like the whitework/detailwork in the winged... cat? Lion? Snout's wrong for a wolf...

Anyway, nicely done. :-)

Thank you very much:) I love how he turned out.

(Check out the other examples in the Hunterian Psalter there's some fabulous detail in the highlighting, and under the gold leaf. I may be copying heavily from this one.
