Ready.....FIRE....Aim?

Back in the saddle after 4 much needed, glorious days away from the grind. I'm taking my watch down at Fayetteville this morning to try and help prevent a blood bath.

I'm tired. The drive in was easy and much quicker coming here than in to Decatur (obviously).  But I didn't get to sleep until late after a crud evening. Daddy had gotten us tickets to see Les Mis because that's about my favorite musical on the planet. I've never been to any movie on opening day and the theater was insane. It was brilliantly done but before it even started I had hints of a migraine. I tried so hard to make it through but I had to get us to leave at about the 1/2 way point or else I could have been in serious trouble. So we came home and I tossed and turned until well after 11 and the clock was set for 4am.

It was a really nice Xmas, if not disgustingly wet and gray. It was good to be home. My owner baked something fierce, there was Martin family Xmas eve Chinese food and Christmas crackers, we all got our new jammies, and I had fun watching the kids open all of their stuff yesterday morning. I can sum up what I was fortunate enough to receive as being bountiful in coffee and christ. I loved my quirky religious gifts and coffee/coffee related goodies. It's perfect. On top of that, the youngest child had her 12th birthday so it was fun celebrating that in the days leading up to Christmas. This coming weekend is the eldest child's 16th birthday and I can't wait to be there to see her face when she realizes she got her biggest wish- a car. My Owner and Zayde are geniuses- the car they got her is stick shift, which makes it much more difficult to text and drive.  I, personally, am incapable of driving such machines. Many of tried. 3 pedals, 5 gears, and a wheel are just more than I can handle. I'm a simple creature.  We also got a bed for our bedroom. Now that I know my job situation, there was no way in hell that I was going to spend another 12+ months on an air mattress that killed my back.  It makes my room feel more like a room and like home now too.

I have to take my car in to the shop tomorrow and I'm not looking forward to that. It has started idling quite loudly when stopped, fine when driving, but just very noticeably growing in engine irritation and pretty much as soon as I pulled out of the drive this morning the check engine light came on. I want to get this dealt with before I head back out there this weekend but car things always, not matter what, are surprise sucker punches to the wallet. I have no doubt they may hit me for brakes as well. That wouldn't be a total surprise.

Ok, time to get moving.
