Drum Interview!!!
1. How long have you been a drummer?
17 years.
2. When/why did you decide to be a drummer?
I was eleven years old started playing at my dad's church in Houston Texas.
3. What kind of set did you play?
My first drum set was wrapped in card board art paper. I have no idea.
4. What album(s) did you learn to drum to? If not an album, with whom? Or did you just bang it out?
I grew up listening to old soul, funk, and rock b roll from my parents. I started playing in church at age 12, I learned how to play in front of a live audience.
5. When you started out, did you buy so many accessories?
When I started out, it was a basic set up. Good people gave me a lot of different drum gear. I just went with what was there.
6.Single or double?
Single.
7. Stick size/type?
5b Promark Naturals.
8. Nylon tips, or wood?
Wood.
9. What brand of heads do you prefer?
Remo vintage.
10.What is your favorite cymbal ever?
Paiste 15 inch hi hats.
11. What are your thoughts on china cymbals?
I don't use china cymbals.
12.How about splashes?
No splashes.
13.Where do you get your gear from?
I buy most of my gear from Memphis drum shop. It's the best in my opinion.
14. How do you feel about the statement “any drummer with more than a four piece set is an asshole?”
Many different drummers. Many different assholes. I don't judge people by their set up.
15. I know that you are DAAP Girls, and The Newport Secret Six now.. What bands have you been in/are you in? Would you mind listing out a bandography for us?
Tupelo Honey. Shyte McFlyte. Duppy a Jamba. NSVI. DAAP Girls. Krystal Peterson and The Queen City Band.

Al Jackson Jr. John Henry Bonham. Clyde Stubblefield.
19.Have you ever actually stopped a cymbal crack?
Haha, no.
20.Do you play any other instruments, or do you feel like a drummer should just concentrate on doing their drummer job well?
I don't play anything else right. I think of you're a musician you should play whatever you want.
21. How do you feel about that “This drummer is at the wrong gig" video?
Haven't seen that one.
22. What is your signature move?
N/A.
23. What cd do you put in just because the drums are amazing?
A collection of voodoo field recordings.
24.What would be the most exciting fill in spot for you; the kind where you would puke from excitement before going onstage? Playing live drums for Wu Tang Clan. And I wouldn't puke!
