College
So college life is nothing what it seems... so far lol. I kind of like it and my lil roomie and I get along, even though we're only dorming together for two nights and three days. We chilled late last night watching "Bride of Chucky" with Anthony, Steve, Bob, and Christina. It was nice. It felt very collegiate. Anyway, orientation isn't a killer. Everyone is madd chill, some are weird, some are annoying, others I think I'd love to keep as friends. I.E: Steve, Brendan aka Zach lol... Shira, Wendy... There isn't a lot of diversity but I'm sure that will change in the coming months. I hope it does because I really do love it. What else... Reece has called me and so has Derrick <3 I suddenly feel very special. Although Reece made it clear he wants nothing with me, it's still nice to get to know someone, someone who may turn out to be an amazing friend. Derrick calmed me down the night before my first day and then he called last night to make sure I was okay. He passed the NY State licensing exam for teaching ... and he scored way above passing. I am SOOO proud of him. Oh, and my classes are amazing. I'm taking five classes for seventeen credits. I don't really have to take electives because my AP credit (which is 24 credits) covers me. Therefore, I can concentrate all of my time on my dual major and minor. Thank God. I need 45 credits to be a math major, 36 to be a French, 46 for the honors college... It's a few more than I need to graduate, and then I have the 24 credits that will count towards graduation. So it's looking like I might graduate early... I don't know. I have to take education courses as well so we will see how this works out. Thank God financial aid is covering my extra expenses. I know that was a complete ADD move on my part going from Derrick to my courses BUT there is a link! My classes are on Mon/Wed/Fri from 11 till about 1.10 which is pretty awesome. The classes are only Calc 2 and Art&Craft of writing. Then Tues/Thurs I have classes from about 9 till 3 with a lunch break in between. So I'm psyched. This means that I can wake up late on Monday mornings if I go out on Sunday night and the same with Fridays... In addition, I can leave right after class on Friday and make it to Boston with time to spare. This way I can catch a train to Derrick's apartment and crash. Then I don't have to worry about being back into Baldwin until Late Sunday night. So that gives me approximately ... hmm... Friday night, Saturday day and night, and Sunday... totally worth the twenty or so dollars for travel. He's my best friend and being able to see him when he will be in Boston for so long makes me so happy. He is my best friend in the entire world.... I know that sounds madd cheesy but he is. I don't know what I would do without him and I feel bad because I never let him know how much i truly appreciate him.
Okay, orientation is continuing today and I'm not the only loser up at quarter to eight... I got up at six thirty and showered... and was done by seven fifteen. So I was like crap I'm a dork. But there is someone typing next to me at an alarming rate and then there was another girl walking around so I feel better. My roomie was sleeping the entire time.
