Emo is not Emotion, it's lies
I'm sorry I've written twice in one hour but I have to write this while I feel this strongly about it. Emo, I hate it. I always hate it but as of right now I'm trowing bos and shoes at the thought of it.
I wrote something similar to this in someone's LJ this morning but I just want to elaborate on it.
Why do people buy into the whole emo scene? Dashboard, Taking Back Sunday, and all the other bands that are just lame. They are not good lyricists, they are lame. They lie. They don't feel what they say, they want poon.
1)Hands Down, Dashboard is the worst.
Dashboard is a liar, He is not sad. I doubt he ever has been. He is rich and famous, he gets laid after every show and yet he still complains. I am not saying sad lyrics are bad but when every album consists of sappy, sad lies... It begins to get a little... People say they can relate to his lyrics. I doubt they could. I don't think anyone can. They are too teen dream. Teen dream isn't real, only in the movies and these songs. Guys aren't that romantic, girls are gullible. both are week, and he takes advantage of both to get where he is. No man is as sweet/romantic as he, and no girl can resist his sweet talk. but his lyrics aren't sweet! They aren't good! I don't even think he can relate to them as they are so far fetched. I know they are just songs but they are so lame!!! I think what annoys me the most is that people take it all in. You are the reason he's still at large!
2)Slit throat, bleeding apologies, etc... (it's too pathetic to write out)
Taking back sunday is probably as bad a D/C. That line was written to get laid and it works. It's not sweet! It the worst sad sac line I think I have ever heard in my entire life, most likely the worst lyric EVER written. You must know he's not actually romantic, it makes me sick to think you people dig this shit. I think their true intentions are quite clear. To use a cheap analogy, that you all love so much, (as being able t write them is deep and sexy) "Their words are like cheap wine, and like cheap wine it gets the job done." From here on in T.B.S. shall be known as T.C.B. (The Clit Bandits) I think it would compliment their songs.
In total. Quoting lame song lyrics does not make you deep. (cheep pick up lines don't I don't see why these should) I HATE FAKE EMO!
