books and movies of 2005

When I was in Chicago last weekend, I found that minervacat carries a notebook with (among other things) a list of movies she's seen. I thought it was a brilliant idea, so I'm going to give it a go and see if I can keep track of movies and books ("books" = "books read for pleasure that are not Baby-Sitters Club or Sweet Valley High") for the whole year. See, that's such a great idea! But, for me at least, there's one fundamental flaw. Well, okay. Two.

First, we're three weeks into the New Year, and I've already lost count of the books I've read for pleasure.

Second, there's almost no line between pain work and pleasure, when it comes to reading, for me. Like, I'm enjoying Middlemarch, and started reading it before I had to, so is it pleasure or work? What about Landon or Rossetti?

Maybe my list should be "Books I Read That I Didn't Immediately Want To Write About." Hm. Or maybe it should be "Books I Read that I DID Immediately Want To Write About."
