KL Part 1: Pavilion, Bukit Bintang & KLCC

Apr 29, 2009 21:31

Our flight to Kuala Lumpur was scheduled to depart at 0725 hours, hence, Leon, Mel, Jacq and I met at Terminal 1 at 0615 hours. Thank god my dad sent me, otherwise, my wallet would suffer haha! Leon was tardy for about 15minutes and we had to rush but reached the gate rather early.

We finally boarded our flight with Jetstar ($69 to and fro) only to realise that we were the only teenagers, and reached Kuala Lumpur a good 36 minutes later. Initially, we thought of taking KLIA Express to KL Central and then take the KL Monorail to Bukit Bintang but the train fare to KL Central already cost us RM35. Eventually, we decided to get a medium taxi to our hotel for about RM18 per person.

Around an hour later, we entered the hotel where we were supposed to be sleeping for the next 3 nights - Novotel, which was conveniently located within a 2 minute walk to Pavilion and about 10 minute walk to the nearest monorail station - Bukit Bintang.

Since it was only about 1000 hours, we checked in, left our bags in the lobby, had Toast Box for breakfast and had an itinerary planned out for the next 4 days. Once we had our tummies filled, we roamed around Pavilion drifting from one shop to another checking out Topman, Pull & Bear, Forever 21 etc. Spent roughly a good 2 hours in Forever 21 and got myself a casual jacket!

By 2pm, we made our way back to Novotel, rested for approximately 30 minutes and henceforth started our adventure bwahahaha.

Armed with our map, we trudged out to fill our famished tummies at The Chicken Rice Shop located at Berjaya Times Square. Initially, we planned to have A&W for lunch but the only nearest outlet was at KLCC. Over lunch, we talked about school and whined about how unprepared and terrified we were for senior year.

After that, we walked around aimlessly not at all interested in checking out their shops. We then went to Sungei Wang Plaza just to look around but found out that there’s also nothing much to see. Hence, we decided to go to KLCC by monorail and later changed to Putra (LRT).

So on board the LRT we went and saw something that we can never ever encounter in Singapore... PEOPLE QUEUING IN TWOS TO ENTER THE TRAIN!

We took the train to KLCC station and just roamed around the shopping centre, had Root Beer float at A&W while Mel shared waffle with Jacq. We tried to tap onto Starbucks wireless connection to tweet and update Facebook status! Hahahaha. Famished, we bought takeaways from the food court. Afterward, we cam-whored!

Exhausted after spending approximately 4 hours in Bukit Bintang and KLCC, we started to walk to the taxi stand and paid only RM3 to our hotel!

After washing up, Mel and Jacq met up with us at our room where we spent the remnants of the night watching TV, had dinner and planned our itinerary for Day2.

Ok, KL Day 2 coming right up! Mid Valley Mega Mall, sheesha and Confession of a Shopaholic.
