its been awhile....

so its been awhile since ive updated....well....not that long, but since for some time there i was hitting this thing at least once a day. anyway, on with it.....

tina came in to visit me this week....so much fun. we did alot actually.....even though i had to work everyday. we hit cha cha cha, the restaurant ive been trying to get to since i moved here. really good. not food id typically eat, but i tried it and it was actually quite good. id totally go back. next time someone comes to visit....we also saw the corpse bride...not bad, but i was expecting it to be better. the story line kind of sucked....well..not sucked, but it just wasnt real creative.

last night we took a vampire walking tour of nob hill. that neighborhood is absolutely gorgeous. id love to be living there...ill have to check it out come april. hopefully i can afford it. after the tour, we went out with one of tinas friends. that was fun too....we went out in the castro...or close to it. the bar had a really cool atmosphere...save for the small tvs mounted in the bar in front of each stool....well they were pretty cool, just wasnt really down with the soft core porn being shown on them. something for everyone...guy on guy...girl on guy...girl on girl....riiiiight...tina and i kept looking at eachother and were like what the fuck? then we wandered for a bit around the castro...saw a bar nicknamed the glass coffin....can we go there please? i realized how cool the city really is....must. get. out. more. lastly, we hit a bar down by my office. john collins....it was pretty cool...a little more upscale, but it was fun to see. they also had a random movie playing...a michael jackson meets brady bunch type thing....only in san francisco.

today we spent the day walking around the different parts of the city. made me realize how much of the city i havent seen and how i dont get out much. ill have to make it a point to see some of the city every week. we started on union street, where we wandered for a bit and then hit up the awesome thai restaurant that scott took me to when i first moved out here. so good. definitely will be heading back there at some point...hopefully soon. then we headed to the haight...i had to see if cristobal was working in the gap there, and i havent really been down there to wander since ive been here either. it is an awesome place to people watch. so many different types of people....different types of dress...thoughts...we went to a coffee shop that was extremely liberal....im not sure if thats the right word...anarchist...maybe thats better...not really sure. anyway...it was really cool...very liberal...very haight. we spent the majority of the day there, just walking. we found the coolest most interesting stores...they sold some strange stuff....but so cool to look at....the whole area was very liberal...very hippie if you will....many anti bush tshirts....but funny nonetheless.....lots of drugs....there were stores that sold pipes. i told tina that she should tell brooke i made her go in there with me and that its my favorite store....pipe dream...yep thats me.

after wandering around all day and passing up a slutty martian costume, we met up with cristobal for a drink. that was really strange...i mean, i worked with him forever ago..and we didnt exactly get along. but it was kind of nice seeing him. he gave me a hug....we talked about what we were up to....and he asked us about boston and what it was like now. more like what its like since ive left since its changed so much. he told us about his store and he seems really happy and liking it. hey, he runs the gap on the corner of haight and ashbury...i think id be having fun with it too. its cool to have some one else in the city to hang out with. it was weird..i havent seen him since i was a sales associate at cambridgeside. we were walking back up to his place tonite and hes like how old are you now and im like...22...and hes like 20? and im like no, 22. and hes like youre still a baby...and im like i was only 18 when i worked for you at kenmore.

kind of makes me think about where life has gone...and where i came from. had someone told me back when i was working for him, four years ago, that wed be having drinks in san francisco, i would have told you that you were crazy. at this rate, alirio and i will be having dinner at a five star restaurant in 5 years. but really...its strange the people that come into your life...and some stay and some go...some you want to keep around and they leave...and others you want to leave, and they stay. and its amazing whos path you cross years later. i mean, i never thought, when i was working...no slaving away at kenmore square that scott and i would be out here together....let alone cristobal...but its kind of cool...makes me think to the future...who will still be around. who will be gone...and who will show back up that i never thought id see again.
