With just one kiss, you can change the world

So, word on the street is that my favorite crazy-pants wearing lesbians have gotten hitched.

Hopefully, they'll be able to stay hitched because this crazy Prop 8 thing won't pass. I would advise you all to vote no on prop 8, but 1. most of the people who will read this are not Californians, and 2. nobody who will read this is the kind of person who would vote yes on prop 8 (in fact, I think it's safe to say that if you were the kind of person who would vote yes, we probably wouldn't be friends in the first place).

I have been seeing more signs around town that say "protect marriage: vote yes on prop 8" (one of which is just down my street). I'm actually surprised at the amount of angst and anger just seeing the signs creates in me. I saw a lady with a "yes on 8" bumper sticker yesterday, and had fantasies of rear-ending her, flipping her off, and/or scratching the word "bigot" into her car paint for the rest of my ride home. I think part of it is that I am very scared it will pass, and part of it is that every sticker feels like a personal attack on ME. I am one of "those people" that the yes on 8ers are so disturbed by, which is weird because I usually feel like a pretty normal, boring person. I am trying to just remind myself that there isn't very much I can do about it, either way. I may change a few peoples' minds, but one way or the other, the vote will happen, and I have to live with the results.

On the plus side, I am finally starting to see ads on tv for the No position, which is somewhat comforting (especially since the ads for the Yes position were really disturbing). Also, a series of ads have been released for the No position that spoof the mac vs pc ads. Click here: http://www.afterellen.com/blog/trishbendix/prop-8-videos
Keep your eyes peeled for Molly Ringwald!
