1. Which album is in your collection that you would be least likely to admit to owning?
- the answer to this depends upon whether I include L’s collection or not… if so then “EV3” by En Vogue (truly heinous), if not then possibly Alanis Morrisette (I really liked ‘You Oughta Know’ at the time…) or mebbe Lordz of Brooklyn… But I am generally proud of my collection, Pantera and all!
2. In what ways does what you do for a living now compare with career plans you made as a child?
- At 16 I had no idea, but by 18 WIS had worked it’s magic on me and political / economic development was to the fore, and some would say this is the case, seeing as I work for the inward investment agency for Sheffield. However, on the moot point of whether 18 year olds are children- From an early age until 14 it runs something like: Shepherd, Trapeze Artist, Dentist, Archeologist…
3. If your local school was rubbish, would you pay for Oliver's education?
- Yes I would. We have talked about the merits of this for years (L & I) but it comes down to my answer to nannyo’s question- individual v. collective.
4. Which qualities belonging to your parents, do you hope to bring to your role as a parent?
- Hmm… I think a balance of me Mum & Dad is most applicable, as they both have qualities which balance against one another- Dad’s careful consideration, Mum’s more impulsive approach, Dad’s attitude to hard work (something I wish I had a bit more of myself…), Mum’s care and love and sarcasm…
5. How great is PJ Harvey going to be in September?
- Utterly fantabuloso of course!
